Narnia Productions believes in starting with the best source material possible. That means YOU. Narnia is a comfortable place to work. Unlike many studio situations, we strive to make recording fun. We strive to get the best performance out of each musician, while maintaining a relaxed environment. That means we offer reduced rates for writing sessions, and no charge setup time for instruments like drums that take a little longer to get ready.
Next, we capture great performances with great gear. Vintage mics from Neumann, Gefell and AKG as well as the finest in modern mics from Lawson, Earthworks, Shure, Stedman, CAD, Blue, AKG, Beyer and many others are carefully selected to capture the sound we’re looking to record. We strive to avoid “fixing it in the mix”. World class mic preamps (Hardy, API, Manley, Telefunken, Studio Tech, Altec, and Demeter) continue to sculpt the artists audio vision on the way into Protools (preferred, but Logic and other software available).
Narnia Productions also offers the finest in mixing and mastering. Adam S3A monitors in the mixing suite really show a songs strengths and weaknesses. It doesn’t matter if your vocal sounds perfect, when the kick drum is 10 dB too loud. Proper listening leads to proper balance in your final mix. Mastering for audio and video is generally accomplished on a pair of electrostatic Innersound Audio speakers, Classe’ electronics and a Velodyne DD-15 subwoofer (flat down to 16 hz).
